Now that you’ve found out about Overground, I guess you’ll want to know about the voice behind it. So who am I? Who is the creator of the Overground? I live somewhere in the wilds of Vancouver, British Columbia, and I’ve lived there all my life. I’m a youngish person, a not-quite-starving but rather under-moneyed student. I’m too young to have first-hand experience of most of the pop-cultural eras I love, which certainly doesn’t stop me from loving them.  I’ve always felt that you can tell a lot about people by their heroes and influences – the artists they admire most – so I guess I’d better tell you mine. The novelists I admire most are Vladimir Nabokov, J.R.R Tolkien, Lewis Carroll, Margaret Atwood and J.D Salinger. The poets I admire most are Arthur Rimbaud, W.B Yeats, Allen Ginsberg, John Betjeman, Elizabeth Bachinsky, Laura Farina, and Evelyn Lau. The pop stars I admire most are Bob Dylan, The Band, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Marianne Faithfull and Laura Nyro.
I’ve been writing fiction and poetry since I was nine years old, and I’ve been writing nonfiction since I was fourteen. My greatest ambition in life is to be a successful writer. Overground is my first blog.

very well researched, and intelligent. Gives an insight into a sub-genre I never looked at before.
